The Dirty Dash 2017 is over!!

We would like to extend our congratulations and thanks to all of the participants, your grit and determination made the weeks of organising (and Karl's mental breakdown) worthwhile.

You have helped us raise money for both of our charities and that should help your bruised and tired limbs feel more like a badge of pride.  Hopefully this money will help make a difference to the lives of other young people and keep the memories of two wonderful young men alive.

We would also like to thank all of the marshals and people who have helped put this event together.  It has been an amazing experience and great for so many people to come together for a good cause.

Lastly, I would personally like to thank Mandy and Karl for all of their hard work and dedication to making this happen.  What began as a fun idea ended up as a logistical nightmare, but thanks to their unbelievable work ethic and commitment, they produced a fabulous event and for that I say well done!!

So Karl, I was thinking about next year...

The Charities

The charity was set up in memory of Liam Miller, who was tragically killed in 2015.

Liam was a passionate artist and musician and as such, the mission at L.I.A.M. is to provide grants to underprivileged young people who are going on to higher education, studying artistic or musical disciplines.

The Trust has been set up by Sam, the brother of Rob Stephenson, who was sadly taken whilst enjoying a night out in York with friends.

Rob had so much fun being part of local sports teams that Sam wanted to put something back so other young people could also enjoy these opportunities. The Trust hopes to enable young people to be able to participate and enjoy the friendship and camaraderie that sport brings, both at home and abroad.

Last but not least...

As advisor to the Dirty Dash, I am proud to be responsible for some of the tortures and aching limbs ahead.  I do however want you to feel safe in the knowledge that, no matter what injury and damage you suffer, I am happy to train you back to fitness.

This event is an amazing opportunity to run on land that is normally private and has stunning views across the Vale of Pickering.  Not only that, but you will also get to see me give you a pep talk and warm up at the start, which is worth the entry fee alone!

Supporting two fantastic and deserving charities, the Dash is your chance to help them both whilst enjoying a rewarding few hours getting seriously filthy.

Good luck!!
